Lost pane, issues when creating alias from the bash shell
Hi,
I have recentley taken a using Redhat course and have come across a couple orf issues which i cannot resolve. I have Redhat 9 installed on my PC
1) I have lost the Pane (taskbar) at the bottom of my screen and am unable to retrieve it. If i log in as root it is fine, but logged in as myself it does not appear. I have managed to set up a smaller pane with the Redhat icon showing, if i right click i dont get all options such as Properties as i do logged in as root.
2) I tried to set up an alias in the bash shell for the "rm" command to ask me to confirm if i wanted to remove the file, it should ask me for confirmation with Y/N. When i type alias it shows up as the correct alias but when typing "rm" in the shell it just removes the file without any confirmation
I would appreciate any input.
Thank you
