http://www.linuxprinting.org/ and see if you can find your printer listed; if not, then you're probably out of luck.
In general Lexmark printers have very poor support in Linux, and if I were you, I'd sell the printer and buy another one, an Epson for example. If you decide to go for a new printer, then check "guten-print" site (formerly known as "gimp-print"):

All those printers that are marked "Fully operational" should produce excellent result - at least same quality as in Windows. I have used gutenprint with several Epson Stylus Photo printers and they produce excellent quality images.
