Question mplayer skins non-root

I uncomressed the skins to
/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin
as root

The skins work perfect as root.

then when I login as a non-root user, the skins are found through mplayer, but when I choose any of the skins, it stays as the default (Blue) one.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!
