Monitor switches off

I have this problem, I listen to a podcast and my monitor switches off automatically after 10 minutes or so of inactivity.

How can I avoid this?

I have thought about starting the screensaver after starting XMMS but at the moment my distro does not have any screensaver and I can't add it (live CD).

Disable the power management. If you are using KDE, it's located in the Control Centre (kcontrol) under Peripherals--> Display--> Power Control.

If you don't use kde, you can run from xterm the following:
