make "options"

I've always done "make bzImage", and I just ran across a guide that uses "make zImage". The new guide put the disclaimer that if the error "kernel image too large" appears, use bzImage.

My questions is this. What other options are their when compiling a kernel?
Is there any reason I should or shouldn't continue using bzImage?

Thanks
adam

"Basically, a "b" kernel is loaded into high memory, a regular kernel into low memory. All compressed kernels are compressed with gzip -9."
