First guess is that it doesn't like your video card. Can you boot Mint in Live CD mode?
Also, what kind of video card do you have (In Windows, Control Panel-->System--->Device Manager, at least that's what it used to be)?
Since it's the "install inside of Windows" version, there's really no harm done--you can remove it from Control Panel-->Remove Programs (or whatever they are calling it this week) and try again, but I'd suggest researching the video card first.
