keybord tab problem

When i install yum server, and install packages of servers i use tab button, but the tab button is not working. whats the problem.

generally tab button is used in the terminal to show possibilities.
Display all # possibilities? (y or n)
Does it show something similar like this?

What do you mean it's not working? In editors? In the command shell?
