Although I have seen this one before, I will contribute with my latest reasons:
(Obviously this is all IMHO, no need to bash it)
KDE because it's not so much like winbloze as Gnome is;
KDE because it's very user friendly, and puts things in a logical order;
KDE because I work on cars, and it's mascot is a Gear;
KDE because it's less letters to type than Gnome;
KDE because it has more good "Eye Candy" than Gnome;
KDE because it was the first desktop I ever used on Linux;
KDE because Mandrake runs it by default;
KDE because I like it's configure tools;
And finally, not GNOME because I want anything BUT Gnome. Actually I use KDE or Flux (usually Flux) and that's it, so Gnome might be getting alot better, but this is just my age old bias.
Cool, good topic, hope it doesn't get locked for "over use".
Well this all a matter of personal Taste. I recommend you try both and see which one you like the best, and feel most comfortable with.
Also why limit yourself to these two desktop Environments, when there are a lot of Windows Manager available as well. Try some of these, and choose which one you like the best, and which one you feel most comfortable using:
