KDE Daemon Off, restart?

I "accidently" turned off my KDE Daemon when uninstalling packages. Now when I start my Kubuntu installation, am I greeted by a prompt as I would if I booted in safe mode. How do I turn KDE back on?

Need more info.
Which KDE Daemon did you turned off?
How did you do this?
DId you do this as root or as a user?
If user then look under your home directory for .kde/share/config/kdedrc. Change false to true if the one in there is the one you did.

I ended up giving up and reinstalling Kubuntu. I was trying to install a package through adept (as root of course), I believe it was gcc of all things... and I was told the KDE Daemon needed to be turned off and something about an X window being open, which prob was just the desktop. From then on just straight prompt action.
My .kde/share/config/kdedrc file has just

[$Version]
update_info=kded.upd:kde3.0

Was that what you were referring to? Thanks
