java

You need to start a terminal/konsole session, change into the directory that you downloaded java. Make the java *rpm.bin file executable by doin "chmod +x javafilename" and then ./javafilename. A licence agreement will show up and if you agree to the licence and rpm will be extracted into the directory that you downloaded java. Install the rpm as follows ' su -c "rpm -Uvh javafilename.rpm" ' . Java will be installed in /usr/java . To use it in Mozilla or opera, you can create a symlink as follows, "ln -s /usr/java/j2sdkversion/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozillaversion/plugins/. " .

To use java for other stuff put it in your path, by editing .bash_profile and adding the following line, "export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2sdkversion/bin".

Replace any files with *name or *version with the right name or version of the file or folder that is installed on your system.

Oh yeah, since you are a fellow country man, join us at linux.org.zw or at the forums
