Hi! If it uses 'USB mass storage' its very easy to use it with linux.

Make sure the following modules are loaded, or built into the kernel.

USB support (usb-uhci or usb-ohci or something)
SCSI support (the module name is scsi i think)
USB-MassStorage support (usb-storage is the name)

After that, simply plug in the drive, and do the following
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/whereyouwanttomountit

Good Luck!

Depending on how old your distrobution is, you may have to recompile the kernel with support for usb-mass storage--it is a fairly recently adopted technology in Linux. See http://www.linux-usb.org/ for some more information.

Hi!
Yes it seems that that page is offline.. Very strange..

Anyway, I've found this page that will work just as well. It focuses on USB Mass storage Cameras, but since the hdd uses the same protocol it will be the same thing to the kernel.

Good Luck!
