Is this correct DEF for NAT?

OK i am trying to understand some basics of NAT means this is what i think it means, tell me if any of the following is incorrect

1x ISP account
1x Router
2x PC's

If i enabled NAT on my router, then my 2x PC's will have 192.168.*.* addresses.

If had noNAT on my router then, my 2x PC's won't be able to connect to the internet because they won't have any IP's so i would have to get my ISP to assign me 3 subnets to my account. so, the 3 IP's they give me 1 for router and the other 2 are for the 2 PC's.

Is that correct?

Also what does PAT stand for...?

that seems pretty messed up, not sure where you're trying to go with this. NAT is the way in which a gateway server will recieve internal traffic, pretend that it's actaully from that server itself and spit it out to the net, and pass the responses back to the original internal node. the IP numbers used is not related at all. the internal machines configuration will not chanage at all, it is what's done to their data at the gateway that is the NAT (Network Address Translation) part of things.
