I'm looking at getting a TV tuner card, preferably high definition but I'm pretty easy either way, however a mate just got one with a remote and the remote is programable so her can use it with Winamp, Power DVD and whatever he wants to set it up to do which is great but does anyone know of anything like that I can do the same with under linux? While the remote would obvioulsy work with the TV regardless of OS I really want to be able to use the remote for music and DVD as well.

Anyone know of how I can do this? Thanks

I've wanted to set up a TV tuner card that supported definition input. However, I haven't found a card. From my research, I found that the hauppauge PVR-250 cards, and ACER cards seem to have the best linux support. However, they record at DVD quality at best. I know ATI has a high definition card. I think (tentative) some NVIDIA's personal cinema cards support high definition. I haven't seen these cards supported in linux though. oh, i think there is a pcHDTV tuner card supports high definition but only local broadcast, not from cable of satellite. Does anyone else have further information?
