In linux the dmidecode command output showing SMBIOS version as 2.4, 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8. is these versions are OS dependent or BIOS dependent.
Also, could anyone please provide the output of "dmidecode" for the SMBIOS version 2.8.
BIOS dependent.
It's actually just dumping the DMI (Desktop Manegment Interfare) or SMBios (System Management Bios) table, it doesn't directly probe your hardware.
