Installing RHEL 6.7 on Dell Server 730 for Storage Uncertain about EFI Boot Partition

I'm installing RHEL 6.7 on my Dell 730 Storage Server and it requires I install an EFI in a standard partition (doesn't appear to like being installed in a VG/LVM). I've read that the EFI partition can be FAT and between 100 and 200 MB in size. Does this sound about right? I've never seen the requirement of installing a /boot EFI partition, typically I'm required to install just the /boot partition. I've ready that the boot EFI partition is reserved for loading OS files and File Utilities, does this sound about right? What does it do for my Linux OS? Is this a requirement as a result of the hardware/firmware I'm installing on I wonder?

A million thanks,
John

An EFI partition is a FAT32 partition and usually 1-200MB so if you are using EFI, you need it. Brief explanation at the Red Hat site below. The only files you should see on this partition are boot files, AFAIK.
