When trying to install MySQL 3.23.58 on Fedora Core 4 I get the following error.
checking "LinuxThreads"... "Not found"
configure: error: This is a linux system and Linuxthreads was not
found. On linux Linuxthreads should be used. Please install Linuxthreads
(or a new glibc) and try again. See the Installation chapter in the
Reference Manual for more information.
Kernel Source is not included with Fedora Core 4 so I downloaded and installed that seperately. I still got the same error.
I downloaded and installed a new glibc and still got the same error.
Has any one else encountered this problem and if so how did you get around it?
Is it possible to install FC3 RPMs on FC4 systems? If so, then that version is here. There are some packages there without FC3 in the name (just i386) so maybe those will work... Otherwise, maybe you want to consider moving back to FC3 or picking a different distribution entirely?
