MySQL in Fedora Core 2


i run the built-in mysql in fedora core 2. i installed mysqlcc the run it. the problem is i cannot create
a database using the mysqlcc. the error was "Access denied for user@localhost"
please help

Make sure you login as root to create the database.

From the above it looks like you are logging in as "user".

I'm not! Because it says:

Access denied for user@localhost
If you where root it would be:
Code:
Access denied for root@localhost
Please post the full command you are using.

the default password for root in mysql is blank (" "). it is not the same as your system login.
