How to transfer users

I have a bunch of users on my old machine, and would like to transfer them to a new box I just built.

The old machine has redhat 9, while the new box has fedora core 4.

Is there an easy way of moving the users without going through USERADD a hundred times?

TIA.

I would copy the relevant lines from the rh machine (/etc/passwd, /etc/group) to the new machine (using vipw and vigr). You may need /etc/shadow too, but be careful there, it's password stuff!

Never tried it, but you might try just copying lines from the old machines /etc/passwd, /etc/groups, and /etc/shadow to the new machines copy of those files. I would make a backup before trying this though...
