This machine is 64 bit, using right install media. It currently has RHEL 2.x on it, no idea who installed it. From the EFI menu crap, it seesm the option to boot from cd-rom no longer exists. 2 days of working with hp I still can't boot from cd-rom. PXE boot is not suitable as I cannot alter the config of a machine to set it up nor do I have extras to add. I can boot to the OS installed fine, and t can read and mount the cd fine. My question, how the hell do I install something else if I can't boot any other media?
This may be over simplifying, but have you checked the BIOS to see that the CD ROM is a bootable device? and is set to boot before the first hard drive?

This is all controlled through those EFI menus, it is not the traditional BIOS you are thinking of. It may be off forum saying I have been through every command in the shell and was unsuccessful in adding any boot device except the HD.

Is it possible to install RHEL4 on HP zx6000? We also want to install it on a refurbished machine we just got, but I heard that we will need an additional management card.
