how to have my own remote desktop without disturbing local user or other remotes
hello
I would like to know how can I have remote desktop to a Linux Box without any disturbance of local user or others who logged in like me .I mean exactly like remote desktop in windows 2003 or 2008 which every users who logged in remotely has it's own desktop without any disturbance of others.
and is this possible to do it from fedora to ubuntu and vice versa .
Install FreeNX on the server. Install Nx client on the system you use for remote access. FreeNX sever is available for most distros, so check with the appropriate package manager.
You need ssh working first, since Nx uses a secured ssh connection. Here is a link you can read a little more about FreeNx. There is a link on there to get Nx client as well.
Might work, but you may want to look into VNC. Each user can (if they wish) start a server process that they can connect to remotely using password security. Each user gets a different 'port' or 'view' and none of them interact. I use it often, it has never let me down.
You may also want to consider xrdp (which uses VNC) to allow rdesktop or RDP clients onto your Linux server (dynamic - on demand). I dislike it myself, but for one friend whose corporate policy prevented installation of vncviewer on the MS desktops - it saved the day.
