how to display a picture in the email body

I manage a small company's website. They need to send invitations to lots of people and asked me to show them how to put the invites (jpg) in the body of an email. I can't find anything relevant on it. I tried to attach a jpeg file and email it to various email accounts. It opens fine in Thunderbird. I fails to be displayed in gmail and hotmail. You also don't seem to be able to copy and paste the jpeg file.

thanks

In Thunderbird, try the Insert Image option. I tried that, and was able to display the .jpg file in a web browser as I expected. I don't have gmail or hotmail accounts to test. Give it a try and see what happens.

Thanks camorri,
Unfortunately, they are just starting the business and bought the cheapest hosting plan with only POP enabled so I don't seem to be able to send emails through Thunderbird. They will probably have to upgrade the account anyway as their mailbox is very small. At the moment they have to rely entirely on their webmail.
