How do i custome change my red hat 9 Gui and menu looks to linux?

I seen people change the way redhat 9 totatly looks, but ive been wondering how to do it, or even where to find a turtorial for it. I think its pretty cool how people can make the menu's 'see through' with a light color faded into them. I would like to do that to mine, and possible shrink the tool bar and make it look neater and better looking.

Do you use KDE or GNOME?

In my opinion...KDE is better looking...and you can make the menus transparent with KDE.
