help regarding mv command


can any one help me ragarding mv command
iam using fedora 5 i had a folder on the root desktop
and wanted it to move it to the home desktop
i have used the following command

mv -t foldername /root/desktop/ /home/prasad/Desktop/

the cmd worked but now iam not able to access my home directory
i think so it has overwrited my home directory
now how can i access my home directory
