grub 'Geom Error' on /dev/sdb SD card on laptop
Hi group,
I'm having a problem with Grub. The setup is, Acer laptop with a hardrive and SD card. I have the BOIS setup to boot from USB first and then SDA. When I insert the SD card, the boot hangs. So I created a /boot directory on the SD card, now when I boot I get "Geom Error". If I remove the SD card, it boot fine. I think it has to do with the way Grub sees the devices. Without SD, it sees SDA as HD0, with SD it sees SD as HD0. I can't get into Grub to debug it.
I have run 'grub-install --no-floppy /dev/sdb'. Still get 'Geom Error'
So my question is how to get into Grub when SD card is in or out??
Thanks for your time.
ps the sd card is formatted as fat32.
