Getting Error Message while Extracting it

Hi Everyone ,

i am using redhat 9 i am getting error while

extracting the file ,the error message is

" gunzip: 20060629_0535_balboa_out.log.gz: invalid compressed data--format violated "

i want to know that whether it is indicating the

file is corrupted ???

Helpinmg this issue will be very much appriciated

If there is a checksum associated with your file then compare the checksum against your download, but the error message does suggest the file has been corrupted.

You can also unzip using tar:

tar -xzvf 20060629_0535_balboa_out.log.gz
