Getting A7N8X to work with Mandy 9.1

I found this on the supported Hardware page of Mandrakelinux.com.

NForce 2 board with 1 NVidia Lan. NVidia NForce drivers required for the Lan (available in the boxed releases or for club members)

Requires to have acpi=off to be able to access to the Lan. The tested board was a standard one, not a Deluxe.

How do I accomplish those tasks?

Not quite sure I understand the question... however to turn off acpi you can either rebuild the kernel w/out acpi or in lilo.conf add this line to the image configuration section

append="acpi=off"

I just want to use 1 card. I don't want to use the onboard card in my machine. So only 1 card, that I will be installing.

I want it to be the linksys LNE100TX

it looks like the LNE100TX is supported by the tulip driver. Now I think there is a tulip driver that comes with the kernel but this linksys suggests you download the latest (they have a link to it) and compile it. it looks like all the instructions you'll need are on this page. good luck.

ok... can you post two things... the output of the command 'cat /proc/pci' (this will allow us to see just what chipsets exactly we have to work with.

and second what is output when you modprobe tulip?

Ok I disabled it in the bios.

But it sees the card as an ADMtek ADM983 Linksys Etherfast 10/100 Network/main interface

But its a Linksys LNE 100tx

I don't get it. I ever tried to cards, both were the LNE 100TX and neither were recognized as the LNE100tx.
