ftp command error-file too large

Hi,

Im using mandrake 10.1 and I need to upload a file to another FC machine in the lan, the file size is almost 4 giga and I get an error telling me that the file is too large. I looked at the man page to try to fix this error but didnt find a thing,please help.

Does the remote machine support files this large? Have you considered using other methods, like rsync or scp?

Is your file system large enough to store the file?

Yes it is.

I tried to send it also to an windows based ftp server and got the same error... :-(
