Hallo.

Is there is a way to use the lpt. port for electronics in a laboratory in newer Linux distros with kernel 2.6?

It is easy in windows, but it usually costs mony.

I would like to use c++.

Please spell and write clearly.

Yes, there's lots of ways to do it. Google for "linux lpt port control", and you'll find lots of examples. This is one:

Thank you for your tips TBOne. I think I can use Parapin.
But I am not sure if it works on the newest kernels, or
if i can download it from a responsitory for some Linux distro.
(The cap-sys, Linux security system are going be built in-
to the kernel instead of in a module. This may effect
the cap-rawIO controlling the lpt-port)?
I have at least 25 Linuxdistros on three computers with several harddisks
and an ipcop-host, so I can find place to install yet another distro.

Does anyone know anything about these questions?

Thank you for reading.
