Fluxbox + Windows keyboard and menu/windows key ==> Any takers

I have a MS Natural Keyboard with the windows button and the menu button between ctrl and alt

I have played with the keys file but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the windows key - alone - to open the fluxbox menu

I found a way to configure it so if I hold the windows key and then press a letter, say "z" the menu will pop up. However, I'd like it to pop up with nothing more than pressing the single key.

If this is an easy enough question then I also ask the following:

- Make it so the 'menu' key on the MS board closes the menu
- The arrow directions move around on the menu
- Enter launches the selected program

...it may be a GUI - but I can't help but find the keyboard faster anyway.

Anyone have any ideas?

Instead of Mod4 z, use 133. this number is from XEV.

The Windows key is commonly seen as Mod4 on Linux, though it might be seen as Super_L. You can use xev to test that on your system. Be forewarned that the output of xev is rather dense.

Here's some of my Fluxbox keybindings using the Windows key, identified as Mod4.

Mod4 k :ExecCommand konqueror ~

Once you create a keybinding, you have to restart Fluxbox to test it; there's usually a "restart" item somewhere on the menu.

I don't know that you can get the Windows key by itself to open the menu--I haven't tested that. The combination I use for the menu is the same combination Windows uses in the absence of a "Windows" key: CTRL-ESC.
