Exclamation Event Capturing

Community, once again I'm in need of your help. I need to know how I can capture events raised by any type of application in Linux. Specifically I need the ones regarding keyboard and mouse events. I also need to know the libraries or components that handle them.

Thanks,

and they tell (propaganda) us no computers in Cuba.

i think only applications themselves can capture gui evens when they are in focus.
It done using the gui toolkit like Qt/KDE or gtk+/Gnome or java or any other toolkit

events ...

The thing is we're using GTK's visual libraries and Anjuta to try to control events onscreen. So far we've managed to do some basic stuff, open new windows, control them hierarchically, max and minimize, among other things. We're also using Cairo to add some more functionality. Has anyone else done something more complex?

Thanks,

P.S Just for the record:

Our country has been graduating Computer Engineers for over 30 years, we teach computing starting at the age of 5 in every educational level up to the University. Today, our University which is one of several more nationwide, has over 7000 computers distributed among productive projects including Free Software.

So there you go, there ARE computers in Cuba ...
