Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type
Hello, I am a newbie and would welcome any help regarding this problem.
I am on a Asus N2600, Intel Atom, 32bit netbook.
I had Ubuntu 12.04, Mint 13 Cinnamon and Windows 7 Pro (I only use Windows when I have no other choice) partitioned on the HDD.
I've created a fourth partition to install another version of Windows 7, apparently it went well but at the end it showed some log error notice but it quickly finished installation nevertheless.
After restarting, I no longer could choose what OS to boot (like before with Grub2) and the Mint partition had disappeared.
I tried to fix this with TestDisk and Mint (with Parted and Gparted) LiveCD's with no success. When I trusted that TestDisk had it right, I instructed it to write a new partition table, but after restarting no OS could be booted.
Now, from the Ubuntu Live CD, I can see the the Ubuntu partition still visible but when I click on it , it says: "Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda2, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so".
How can I recover the data from the Ubuntu partition?
Thanks.
