Question Downloading Star Office

Back again with more questions. Alright, I am very new to this, so please be patient. I would like to download Star Office to put on my computer that I have recently installed RH on. I do not have a modem on this computer. However, I do have another computer where I am hooked up to the internet, but am running windows. Is is possible to download Star Office onto a CDR, then take that CDR and put it in the other computer and load it from there? I have know idea how to get Star Office onto my computer. Please help if you can.
Thank you.
Susan

it should be fine - all you need to do is download either the rpm or the .tar.gz file, burn it to a cd, and have your linux box read off the cd. it doesn't matter what o/s downloads the file, as long as the extensions are maintained. the only real snafu you might encounter is windows trying to save the file as a .txt file - in that case, you'd just need to rename it.

incidentally, www.slashdot.org just posted a notice that StarOffice 6.0 beta is out.

I also understand that Sun has 2 versions of its office suite, the entirely GPL'd version is called openoffice and can be downloaded at www.openoffice.org. And then there is StarOffice, which is a great product, but apparently is not fully GPL'd depending on what your gonna do with it, you may want OpenOffice instead. Just my $.02
