Angry Star office / Open Office on Sony Picturebook

I have Red Hat 9.0 on a sony picturebook. I had to de-select open office from the install or the installation aborted. Likewise, I cannot load star office 7, it starts then I get a blank window (where the install process should be I assume) and it just hangs.

Any thoughts?

Are you sure you have a jvm?

no, I thought the staroffice install would install it for me. If this is not true can you tell me where to get it for RH 9.0 ?

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

My guess is you have to have the sdk installed before installing openoffice.org, that is, I bet the installer doesn't also install it's own runtime, but it might. Try typing java at a shell prompt, if it knows the command you've got a jvm. If not, the above url has what your after.

You also need to rerun the OpenOffice.org setup program to tell it where the JVM is. I think the 'setup' command will do the trick.
