Question dos emulation in console mode

I'm back to Mandrake 8.1 again. Fickle, fickle, fickle... I want to run some of my old, small dos programs under Linux, but the booting process in Mandrake somehow changes the monitor to a higher resolution. The text works, but it scrambles the low res graphics. Does anyone know how to change the console to 640 X 480 so I can use it for dos-emu? Xdos works, but the hot keys of the dos program conflict with X. (BTW, if I can get rid of that blocky penguin too, this would be a bonus).

Many thanks

If you edit your lill.conf file you should be able to specify the console resolution. Type man lilo.conf for more info.

Exclamation another problem

Well, you were right. Lilo was the culprit. But the hot keys still conflict with Linux. I'll let you know if I find a solution.

Thanks
