Question Displaying the System Temp

Can anyone recomend a good bit of software for displaying my systems/cpu's temp and fan speeds. Or even a bit of software that will allow me to slow down or speed up the CPU's clock speed.

Install lm_sensors and then install and run, for example, gkrellm.

To change your CPU clock speed, check first in your BIOS. If your CPU supports it, your BIOS should alow you to make the changes.

If you have speednow or speedstep technology, there's a kernel option and a set of userspace governors for adjusting your processor speed.

For some reason, lm_sensors will not work with my motherboard. I have spend days working on it in the past with no luck and /proc/acpi/thermal_zone isn't populate either. After compiling a ton of kernels and fiddling with every option imaginable in the sensors-detect scripts I gave up but the other day I found a little app called xmbmon. It has a GUI and CLI version in the one app and it works great

Just a kindly FYI
