disk transfer rates on lap tops


i have a dell inspiron 2650 with ibm hd but i cant seem to find the model of it i got the serial but where can i find the model number and transfer rate is between 25 mb and 30 mb(check it with hdparm -tT /dev/hda) dma is active what else i have to do upgrade the transfer rate or is that all i can get

bios would be your best bet to find info on dma modes and xfer speeds, and the hdparm manpage will tell you how to enable these features. btw, your signature: C++ Makes you Feel Better should say "C++ Makes you Want to Vomit"
