gaim - Slow file transfer rates using msn protocol

Using fedora core 3 kernel 2.6.9-1.667 with gnome desktop environment.

The problem is in the subjectline. I've really tried solving this, but without luck. I'd appreciate any help and/or info you could give me on the subject.
Please keep in mind that I'm kind of a newbie (you get alot of those around here I guess).

Thanks

I am having problem with the file sending in amsn as well and I had it in all "msn clone" i tried... for what I read, if you are trying to send a file to another msn client (a "real" msn), the "real one" refuse to make a direct connection with you and so the file transfer over Micro$oft server instead that trought a direct connection, which cause the slow speed. I don't think there is a way to avoid this, unless someone leak the MSN protocol on internet (because as you may know, all client are based on reverse engineered protocol, which is fairly incomplete).

In any ways... Blame Micro$oft.

Yeah, I kinda figured this was Bill's way of being evil in the dark after posing as altruistic with his donations.
