I'm having a problem seeing files and shortcuts on my desktop in FC4. If I open a terminal and go to /USERNAMEHERE/Desktop and run the LS command than I can see files I've downloaded and short cuts and everything. But if I minimize all my windows and look at my desktop, none of those files or shortcuts are there. What is going wrong? Please help!!

When downloading to the desktop, I have found some things wont show up until the x-server is restarted. I don't know why, but it happens. I created a folder on the desktop called "downloads" and just use it instead.

No. That is strange behavior. Have you restarted X too see if they show up? Also try creating them in /home/<you> and copy the shortcut to the desktop from there,
