decoding a mac *.bin file

I have been searching far and wide for a program to decode mac binhex (or hexbin) files, with no luck at all.

I have been trying to find the linux version of stuffit expander, to no avail.

a basic summary of my dilemma is such: i am trying to install mac OS system 7.5.3 on a powerbook 145b, with two linux machines for support. I am kinda at a standstill until i get a new floppy drive, but until then I wanted to play with the install files and perhaps make them smaller or split them up.

in any case does anyone know of a program that will do this for me?

Look at Freshmeat and you'll find mcvert, PKZIP, JBinHex and then there's the generic macutils package. Aladdin used to make available a Stuffit Expander package for GNU/Linux but that can't be found at the usual address, maybe some download sites still have an ancient copy.

Nice trip back in time there. Last time I played with ancient MacOS 8 it was under Basilisk II, which has a GNU/Linux version as well.
