Question Creating a DVD book

Hi all,
I recently bought a set of 34 encyclopaedias. Unfortunately, the index volume was missing. Now, I've been able to download a free copy off the net of this index (it's 1911 so copyright expired) in the form of hundreds of individual .jp2 files, each of which is a scan of a page from the index volume. So I have a directory full of these:

encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0525.jp2 encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0774.jp2
encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0028.jp2 encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0277.jp2 encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0526.jp2 encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0775.jp2

encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0045.jp2 encyclopaediabri29chisrich_0294.jp2

And they go on and on and on for about a thousand images in total. The question is, how can I create a searchable DVD from all these images? They amount to approx 1.25Gb in total.
Thanks!

cc.

are you really asking how to put files on a dvd? or how to search through the files?

I know how to copy files over to a dvd, but I want to get some formatting metadata onto the disks as well, to make it more like the original paper index was. So I can flick through it like a Kindle for example.

Is this a backhand invitation to proofreading? https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index...Volume_29.djvu

Not sure why something that's been out of print for over a century should require proof-reading, TBH!
I'm aware there are sites (like the one at the British Library) where one can flick through the Vol 29 scans like they're the leaves of a book, but I want that same functionality without having to rely on an internet connection. I want all the data from the volume, plus supporting code to burn to DVD so it's readily accessible, rather than just a massive long listing of files.

Perhaps an example would help here.

This is the index online. You can flick through it page by page just with a touch of the up/down buttons and arrows.

I have never done this, but perhaps an EPUB format would work for you. Apparently Calibre and/or Sigil can be used.
