console "end" button


in X i do:

less /var/log/messages
i hit "End" key and it won't get to end of file

outside X it is working...

It's probably some sort of terminal type issue. I think you're supposed to use G to get to the end of the file in less anyhow.

edit to add: You might need to remap the end key in X to get it to work. I'm not really sure, though, since I've always used G.

Run your command (less /var/log/messages) and then press the "h" key. This will list all the keys for navigating within the file. For example, to move to the end of the file press "<shift> g".
