I have two RH boxes running, what I wish to do is ditch the monitor/keyboard/mouse from one of the machines but would still like to use some graphical features.
I thought it was possible to run graphical applications on a remote Linux machine.
Currently when telneting into the remote machine, and running timetool, I get the following:
Xlib: connection to "david14.MATRIX:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
Well on the remote computer you will most likely need to run the command xhost + (gives access to all hosts) or xhost + hostname (gives access to a specific host).
And you will need to set the DISPLAY variable to make sure it gets displayed on the right machine.
OK, here is the deal, I have logged on to the remote box and run xhost + david14
xhost -
then when I run xhost it indicates that access control is enabled and lists the name of the local computer to which I wish to use to access this machine remotely.
Going back to the other box, if I try to do anything that requires X I get the following:
Xlib: connection to "david14.MATRIX: 0.0" refused by server
Xlib Client is not authorised to connect to Server
