Change order of bootable OS' in LILO

Hi!

I recently added Windows to my LILO boot loader. Linux Slack is the default OS to boot. Hpw do I change the order of the OS'?

Windows was added like so:

other = /dev/hda1
label = windows

The reason I want to do this is my family also use the PC and I want Windows to boot for them without them having to worry about ressing the UP Arrow!

Thanks!

You move an entry in the menu by moving it in lilo.conf. To change the default system to boot, find the line starting with default=, it probably looks this way:
default="linux"
Change it to
default="windows"
Then run 'lilo' as root and reboot to test it.

LILO doesn't use the UP Arrow, GRUB does.

To change the default boot option in LILO, add the following line above your image declarations:

default=<Linux kernel image name>

Replace the above text with the image name LILO uses for your Slackware kernel.

You can arrow with the LILO menu. And change the order of second and third systems just by listing them differently. But, yeah, to change the boot default, you need to edit the 'default', naturally enough.

Strangely here wasnt a default option! I just manually added it to lilo.conf and set it to windows and that worked fine
