Cannot find the Xine uninstaller, so how do I do it the hard way?

I installed an old xine lib from a .bin file and I do not know where in the uncompressed file to find an uninstaller. so I will have to do it the hard way.
How do I do it?

yum remove <package name> or
yum erase <package name>
I don't remember what the difference for these two options are you will need to read the man pages to find out, but yum does check for dependencies.

I had myself confused, it was not a .bin file, I'm not sure if it matters but it was from a .tar.gz type or something.

yum should work for you. To find out where the file is
yum info <package name>

depends on how you installed it ( what you passed to configure). did you make a package? did you keep the source directory around? if you did neither ( and you should have done at least one of them, preferebly the package) you will have to re-download the same version tarball, do configure again with the same options, and "make uninstall". you could do it manually, but unless you know how much and exactly where everything is it will be time consuming. Also, yum can't help you here.
