Can't install operation system

Operating system: Bunsenlabs Hydrogen 64 bit
Computer: Motherboard: Asus Prime B250 Plus
CPU: Intel i3 7100

I left a space on my hard drive to install windows 7, 64 bit
When I try to install it freezes where it says: "loading windows".
When I boot up I get a message about pressing F2 to load UEFI bios settings. I read some things about UEFI on the NET. I'm not sure what to do with this, or if this is another problem.

Thanks for help,

Joe

Windows doesn't play well with others. Specifically it doesn't seem to like the idea it isn't the primary boot. It is generally suggested you install Windows first and THEN add other OSes.

Just in case the OP ever returns from there ...
Does Debian insist on gpt for UEFI installs ?. If so I doubt Win7 will install unless it is the "Pro" edition. On my OEM version (Win7 Pro 64-bit) it refused to install on gpt at all.

Debian will use either gpt or mbr, but it defaults to gpt on a uefi system. These pages should clarify your options
https://wiki.debian.org/UEFI#Disk_pa...MS-DOS_and_GPT
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...8-139dc77c5898

Whichever set-up you choose, I believe that you still need to install Windows first, or it will just remove your Debian boot-loader.

I checked at Bunsenlabs forums, but have not resolved the issue so far. Also contacted Asus to see if they could help, also no help so far.

I had this Windows 7 installed on a laptop originally. I'm not sure if it uses UEFI or bios. I have installed Windows in the past after installing Linux and then reinstalled grub. On this computer I get to the point where it starts to install and then freezes. I'm not familiar with UEFI so don't really know how to fix this. I would rather not have to reinstall Linux if possible. According to my bios I think it uses both UEFI and GPT.

See if they have inxi in their repos - if so install it, then run the following and post the output using code tags so we can read it.
Code:
[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo UEFI || echo BIOS
inxi -Fzx

do you have only one disk, or probably more? based on your last post there is no windows installed at all. If it was on /dev/sda it is now lost. But the boot loader of windows looks like still started - but no windows was found.
(if you have a second disk too please post: sudo parted /dev/sdb "print free")

Try formatting sda1 as NTFS, and move the boot flag there (grub ignores the boot flag).

I didn't have windows installed. I am trying to install to sda1

I formated sda1 as NTFS and put the boot flag there. It didn't make a difference.
