Can't boot any more."Compressed ramdisk found....

hi!
i'm using gentoo linux and i wanted to compile a new kernel but then i changed my mind and left the configuration window (genkernel --config) with "exit without saving changes".
Then i rebooted my system and after 2 seconds and chosing "gentoo" in the lilo menu the system locks up with the message "compressed ramdisk found on block 0"?
How can i solve this problem and get my system started?
Thanx for your answers............

boot from a rescue disk, and recompile and install a kernel alternativly you may be able to get away with lilo -v to rewrite the bootsector
