Blackbox vs. Windowmaker

Hi. I'm looking into changing from the KDE GUI to either Blackbox or Windowmaker. KDE is running too slow for me on my machine. Which one is "lighter", Blackbox or Windowmaker? Thanks a bunch.

Try both, and run top to see which causes more ram to be used. You may find you cant live without the features of one. But if you're trying BB, try Fluxbox instead, it rocks.
Enlightenment usually causes far less ram to be used than either for me!

personally, I think that windowmaker is more "lightweight" - so it's the one that I use. I think Proud's suggestion about using top is a great idea. However, the general feel I get is that Windowmaker is more lightweight, and yet is still configurable...

I'm just about to release my first attempt at a pixmap theme for Flux. Yeah it's an Aqua port, but what the heck. Stick around for FluxAqua at themes.freshmeat.net soon
