best distrib for acer 5315 laptop

Could anyone make a suggestion please for a distrib that will
give me the least amount of problems with an acer 5315 laptop.
Had thought of Ubuntu but I understand I could have wireless troubles.
If it makes a difference the laptop has a Sata hdd so would prefer not to have the fun of trying to install vista with it's added drivers.
Looking through the forum - Archlinux, Gentoo & Crux were mentioned
for the acer but would appreciate a suggestion as to the first one to try.
Thanks very much

How much you are expirienced with Linux? All 3 of mentioned distributions are not exactly user friendly. They are for experienced users.

All linux distributions install fine on SATA HDD, that is not a problem. Wireless could be a litle problem, which chip do you have? I can't find specs of your laptop.

I could not determine which Wireless chip do you have (it says InviLink, but that is only marketing name), but you can see on this page that people reporting it works well with Ubuntu and Mandriva. Yust make sure that you download latest version (you might want to wait until 9.10 is final). Ubuntu is user friendly and can be a good start for people not familiar with linux. Same goes for Mandriva.
