Best book about Learning Debian Linux

I tried SUSE, Mandrake, Ubuntu, Ubuntus awesome, Debian and a few other Linux Distros, I decided to stick with Debian because it's my favorite Distro so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a Book that will teach me how to use Debian Linux,

I've bought 3 books that was supposed to teach Noobs how to learn Linux but none of them did, especially the Book named Kiss The blue Screen of Death Hello again, that Book was as worthless as tits on a bore hog the only thing that the Book Linux Kiss The Blue Screen Of death hello again taught, was how to use a Web browser, set up POP email how to click and point etc the book didn't show how to download Tar Files BZs etc the book was a waste of time and money.

I'm looking for a Book that focuses on teaching people how to download Tar files, extract files, recompile kernels, a Book that relates mostly to Debian Linux.

I hard that The Linux Bible was an excellent book but wanted to come here and get an honest opinion before wasting my money on another worthless book like Linux kiss the blue screen of Death hello again.

there is actually a book for the Debian distro i used to have it i got it from borders book store, the name of it is the Debian users guide $35.00 (that was what i paid for it about 3 yrs ago, it maybe cheaper) but you should be able to find it at almost any book store or your local library.

Why not read it for free: RUTE is an awesome Linux guide and applies to all Linux (and Unix and BSD, to a point). For free Debian documentation, why not go to Debian's site? They have a very good manual, and its online.

Thanks for the link
Something tells me to go with the Linux bible
I'm going to give that a try because I need to learn how to do stuff like download BZ tar files, commands x servers stuff like that the reason why I posted this thread was because I didn't want to get stuck with another book like Linux kiss the blue screen of death hello again

Check the link to the right as well for LQ's reviews. There are many books that have been reviewed by your fellow LQ members.

While distro-centric documentation is always useful, you need a good foundation first. Personally I'd recommend both RUTE and O'Reilly's "Running Linux". Both are solid, informative, comprehensive, and most importantly *well written* guides. That's just my 2 cents. Have fun -- J.W.

also O'Rielly's "Linux Cookbook" is an excellent book, which caters to several different distros, debian included.

Hi...

a good book is Linux internal.
Itīs not a specific Debian book but when you read this book youīll understand how Linux works.
It explains how the commands work (e.g. ls), how Linux boot up and so on...

Itīs not related to any distro...itīs related to Linux/Unix itself :-)
