.bashrc script...

hi,

i'm trying to write a command line in to my .bashrc file to avoid writing my compile lines to often. here is my attempt

imsl() {$F90 -o * $F90FLAGS *.f $LINK_F90
}

the hope is (although it doesn't work) that to compile filename.f i can write

imsl filename

which should result in output file 'filename', ie. expanded command line would be

$F90 -o filename $F90FLAGS filename.f $LINK_F90

with * it compiles all files in directory, if only one file in directory the output file overwrites filename.f and isn't executable.

any help would be much appreciated.
cheers

This wouldn't go in your .bashrc file, this is only read when you login, etc.

Your probably better off just making this a standalone script that is executable.
